UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND MEDICAL CENTER - MIDTOWN CAMPUS

The University of Maryland Medical Center Midtown Campus (formerly Maryland General Hospital) was established in 1881 as 50-bed teaching hospital. Located in the heart of Baltimore, UMMC Midtown serves a diverse population and works in conjunction with UMMC’s main campus to provide comprehensive care to the community. The emergency department is staffed by board-certified/board-eligible physicians and an experienced nursing staff.

Our Facility Includes

  • Bedside ultrasound machines
  • Certified stroke center
  • Advanced airway equipment, including video laryngoscopes (GlideScope®)

  • Up to 39 hours of physician coverage
  • 19 hours of urgent care coverage provided by Family Medicine practitioners, NPs, or PAs
