The Department of Emergency Medicine at the
University of Maryland offers a 2-year fellowship in clinical research.
The fellowship combines part-time clinical practice in an emergency department
in the Baltimore area, mentoring from University of Maryland faculty, and
formal clinical research education in the Department of Epidemiology and
Preventive Medicine (DEPM). A master’s
degree in clinical research is available. The core courses are listed below:
- Principles of Epidemiology
- Biostatistical Computing
- Principles of Biostatistics
- Statistical Methods in Epidemiology
- Design, Implementation, and Reporting of Clinical Research Studies (Grant
Writing)
- Application of Legal and Regulatory Issues in Clinical Research
- Research Informatics: Data Management in Research
- Responsible Conduct of Research
